Summer Reading Challenge Volunteer Opportunity
Are you aged 14 or over?
Solihull Libraries are looking for volunteers to work in libraries across Solihull for Marvellous Makers, Summer Reading Challenge between 13th July and 7th September 2024.
Volunteers will:
- Gain work experience
- Develop skills working with children
- Discover more about working in libraries
- Encourage children and young people to read
- Learn transferable workplace skills
You will be asked to commit to a minimum of 9 hours across the summer and to attend a training evening.
The final date for applications is Tuesday 4th June 2024.
Coming Soon! Marvellous Makers - this year's Summer Reading Challenge is all about creativity and imagination, and having lots of fun! Marvellous Makers will start on Saturday 13th July and you can join in at any time across the summer.
The challenge will be to read six books across the summer holidays and earn yourself a certificate and a medal. Pick up a collector's card from your local library and a set of stickers each time you visit. If you meet the challenge, you can enter our free prize draw.
There will be lots of activities and events at your local library across the summer, so look out for details on our Events page nearer the time.
