A34 Stratford Road / School Road junction

The Council is planning to carry out works to change the road layout in School Road and to provide a shared use cycleway / footway along the western side of the Stratford Road in the vicinity of School Road.

Following consultation with local residents and stakeholders, surveys of traffic, and a recent decision by Cabinet Member for Transport & Highways Solihull Council will be carrying out works to permanently change the road layout.

View the full report to the Cabinet Member for Transport and Highways, including consultation results and decision (to locate the report, scroll down to reference ED4818).

The report also details the findings of a recent road safety review carried out for the roundabout and compares the numbers of reported collisions for the 3 year periods before and after provision of the roundabout.

New Cycle Route

In December last year we consulted local residents and stakeholders on draft plans to provide facilities for cyclists at the Stratford Road / Union Road / School Road junction.

The consultation indicated a high level of support for the proposals with over 80% in favour of the plans. View a summary of the results of the consultation.

We are now planning to carry out works to provide a shared use cycleway / footway along the west side of the Stratford Road as a first phase of the project.  View the plan showing the proposed cycleway.
