Industrial pollution permits

Industrial processes that have the potential to cause pollution are regulated and must be licensed to operate.

We are responsible for issuing permits and inspecting processes that may cause air pollution. The Environment Agency deals with processes that may cause other kinds of pollution.

A list of all permitted processes in Solihull is available on our Public Register.

SMBC has received an application for a permit for the process of ‘blending, packing, loading and unloading and use of bulk cement’ by Midland Concrete Ltd at NRS Quarry , Birmingham Road, Meriden, CV7 7JS.

The application is available to view here:

If you have any comments regarding this application, please direct them to planning@solihull.gov.uk. The site already has planning permission which was granted in March 2017. This is for a permit to operate the above process only. Comments should be received within 30 working days.
