PLEASE NOTE1. The fee MUST be submitted with the application. An application cannot be processed until the correct fee is received. 2. It will assist the speedy processing of applications if applicants complete the form provided when paying the fee. 3. Cheques to be made payable to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. It is helpful if Planning and Building Regulations fees are submitted on separate cheques. A fee is NOT required for: 1. Applications for Listed Building Consent or Conservation Area Consent. 2. Consents required by a condition attached to a planning permission (and does not relate to "reserved matters"). In certain cases, exceptions or reduced fees can be claimed. If exemption or a reduced fee is claimed, full details of the claim must be submitted. EXEMPTIONS No fee is required for the following: 1. The Disabled: Works to improve the disabled persons access to a public building or to improve access, safety, health or comfort at a dwelling, or a building to which members of the public gain access. 2. Article 4 Directions and Planning Conditions removing Permitted Development Rights: Applications required because of the removal of permitted development rights by a condition or by an Article 4 Direction. 3. Revised Applications: Where the same applicant submits one further application within twelve months for the same character or description of development on the same site following the granting of planning permission, a withdrawn or refused application or the dismissal of an appeal. The twelve month time period runs from the date of submission of the first application if that was withdrawn, or from the date of the refusal notice. 4. Tree Preservation Orders: Application to carry out works on tree(s) subject to a Tree Preservation Order. 5. Listed Building and Conservation Area Consents. REDUCTIONS A reduced fee can be claimed for the following: 1. Applications by Parish etc. Councils: Half the normal fee (including Adverts). 2. Playing Fields: For Sports clubs etc. £265 3. Alternative Applications for One site: Highest of the fees applicable for each alternative and a sum equal to half the rest. 4. Development Crossing Authority Boundaries: Only one fee, paid to the authority having the larger site, equal to one and a half times the amount which would have been payable to a single authority or the sum of the fees for each authority calculated separately, if less. 5. Application to continue an Existing Use or Retain an Existing Building: Without complying with a condition attached to an earlier permission, including one which requires the cessation of the use or the removal of the building at the end of a specified period, £135.
