Planning Portal Guide to the Planning System

Submit a Planning Application

The Planning Inspectorate, the national agency overseeing planning matters in the UK, have created a useful resource for planners and the public.

Launched in September 2002 it offers information on the whole planning system at the national level and incorporates information specific to planning authorities throughout the UK.

Of immediate value are explanations of Planning legislation and where it might have a bearing on a development and hence affect an application.

We recommend that you visit the site for advice on whether or not you must apply for planning permission. Planning Portal Guide to the Planning System. Having considered information from the Portal you should confirm your conclusions with Planning Officers at Solihull before submitting or believing that you do not need to submit an application.
