We clear litter from public places, such as streets, parks, playgrounds and pedestrian areas, litter on private land is the responsibility of the landowner.
As well as providing and maintaining litter and dog litter bins across the borough, our Litter Blitz Crew provides a rapid response to areas that need urgent attention so that we can keep Solihull clean and tidy.

The offence of leaving litter
It is a criminal offence to leave, throw down or drop litter, including chewing gum and cigarette butts. The offence carries a maximum penalty of £2,500. We can also issue fixed penalty notices of £75 to people that litter. The fine must be paid within 14 days, but that’s reduced to £50 if you pay within 7 days.
We actively encourage you to take pride in your local area and clean it up either on your own or in a community group.
