Asbestos Permit Scheme
Solihull residents can safely dispose of asbestos at:

You can obtain an asbestos permit by calling 0121 704 8000. If you call before 2.00pm on a Thursday your permit will be issued for the following week.
You must know the registration number of the vehicle you will be using.
We only accept the following types of asbestos:
- corrugated/flat roofing sheets (max 6 sheets/bags)
- roofing tiles/slates
- guttering/down pipes
- plasterboard containing asbestos (max 6 sheets/bags)
- bath/ceiling/ironing board panels
- storage heaters containing asbestos
- vinyl (PVC) or thermoplastic tiles containing asbestos (max 6 bags)
A maximum number of 6 sheets/bags can be disposed of in any one delivery to the site.
Asbestos will need to be double wrapped in plastic and sealed in manageable sizes, i.e. capable of being lifted into a skip at shoulder level by 1 person. The asbestos container is able to accommodate sheets up to a maximum of 2 x 1 metres (approx. 6 x 3 ft).
The Health and Safety Executive have published guidance on how to safely handle and remove asbestos.
Commercial or trade waste will not be accepted.
Vehicles visiting the site must be less than 1.7m (5ft 7in) high and 5.25m (17ft 2in) long.
If using a trailer the maximum size should be equal or less than 1.2m (3ft 11in) long by 1.2m (3ft 11in) wide.
Vehicles that display commercial branding may have to be inspected.
The site is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.00pm (excluding bank holidays).

As a householder, you have a legal obligation (Duty of Care) to take all reasonable measures to ensure that your waste is disposed of properly.
