Applying for a school place

What you need to know about making your application.

Find out more about applying for a secondary school place, a junior place, a place in a reception class or a nursery place in a school.  Find out about applying for a school place other than at the normal intake, for example a change of school.

What happens after you have applied?

You can find out how and when places will be offered and what to do if you are not offered your first preference.  You can find out about changing your application, applying late and providing false information.

Find out the catchment-area school for your address or the distance from your home to school

Our Online Maps service will do this for you, which will help you find if your application is realistic.  Remember: living in the catchment area for a school does not guarantee that you will be offered a place at that school.

What to do if you are moving house

You can find out more about moving house during the application process.
