Due for re-election May 2015
Welcome to My Page
I was elected in May 2007 and represent the community of St. Alphege where I have lived for the last thirty years. In May 2011 I was re-elected to the Council for a further four year period
I retired from the West Midlands Police Force in 2002 having completed thirty-three years Police service. On my retirement I was the Police Federation Chairman in the Force.
For the next two years I worked for the National Association of Retired Police Officers at their headquarters in Wakefield as the Deputy General Secretary.
My Surgery Times
Along with my two Conservative colleagues I hold formal constituency surgeries at Solihull Library on the first and last Saturday of each month, between 10.00am and 12 noon.
No appointment is necessary. At all times I am available on my home telephone number of 705 3086 or can be contacted via my two E-mail addresses jdt1016@hotmail.com or joetildesley@solihull.gov.uk
Ward Matters
I am prepared to help on any Ward issue. I cannot promise success on every matter that is brought to my attention but I can promise that I will have a look at your complaint, make some enquiries and give you an answer.
I am particularly proud of the work I have been able to do in partnership with local residents around Planning issues. I am a firm believer that local residents make the difference in local issues.
A number of large scale developments have been halted in St Alphege over the last few years.
Such an approach includes Powerleague at Tudor Grange School and more recently the proposed development at Sharmans Cross Road and more recently the proposed developments at Sharmans Cross Road and Widney Manor Road
My Interests and Hobbies
I have a particular interest in the welfare of pensioners. I have experience of caring for an older person at home and am only too well aware of the pressures that carers are under.
I remain a member of the Birmingham Branch of the National Association of Retired Police Officers, as well as being a Director of the WMP Private Medical Scheme and Benevolent Fund.
I love all sports though my marathon running days are now behind me!
I enjoy cooking though whether my family would agree that it's worth the effort is always hotly debated.
