| In Maloula, Syria, an annual festival commemorates the hilltop fire, lit there in the Byzantine era, part of a chain of beacons carrying news of the finding of a splinter of the Cross.
In 2009 Birmingham-based photographer Dan Burwood visited a family there to make this series of photographs which examine the relationships between religion, culture and identity within a minority community in the Middle East.
