Information about booking a site inspection.
Complying with Building Regulations
You have a legal obligation to inform us when work stars on-site and at various stages throughout the construction process. This will allow us to monitor your building work to make sure that it meets Building Regulation standards. Once work has finished in accordance with the Regulations you will receive a completion certificate. Prospective purchaser's and solicitors insist on a completion certificate being available before agreeing to proceed with the purchase of a property. Delays and costs can arise where a completion certificate is not available.
Site Inspection Programme
When you start work, your Building Control Surveyor will visit site and agree the level of inspection necessary to ensure that the work is completed to a satisfactory standard of compliance with the Building Regulations.
Agreeing a programme of inspection at commencement allows us to tailor our inspection service to the specific requirements of your project. Provided you inform us that the stage of work identified in the inspection programme is available for inspection, we will provide you with a completion certificate at the end of the job.
Online Inspection Programme, Site Inspection Booking & Inspection Records
- You can view your site inspection programme, book a site visit and review our involvement in the progress of your project online, 24 hrs a day, seven days a week.
- Alternatively, call the site inspection booking line on 0121 704 6000 between 8.00am and 6.00pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9.00am and 6.00pm on Wednesdays.
- Or in person at the Walk In Centres.
Important
This service is available for Building Regulations applications submitted after 1st January 2006
Solihull MBC Building Control provides a same day inspection service if requested before 10 a.m. Please note that whilst every effort is made to maintain this service, it may be necessary at times to extend the period of notice to the statutory minimum of 24 hrs.
