Investigation Successes

  • A 42 year old single man from Chelmsley Wood accepted a Formal Caution following a successful investigation by the Benefit Investigation team at Solihull Council. He failed to inform the council that he had commenced work. As a result of his failure to report this change in his circumstances, he was overpaid Housing and Council Tax Benefit of £1776.47, which he is now repaying.   
  • A 40 year old married man from Castle Bromwich accepted a Formal Caution following a successful investigation by the Council’s Benefit Investigation Team. He failed to advise the Council promptly that he had started work as a registered Private Hire Driver with Birmingham City Council, for Galaxy Cars. As a result of his failure to report a change in his circumstances, he was overpaid Council Tax Benefit totalling £894.53 which he is now repaying.
  • A 30 year old Chelmsley Wood woman was offered a Formal Caution after a successful investigation by Solihull Council. She had failed to report that she had an increase in her Tax Credits. She was overpaid Housing and Council Tax Benefit of £1,443.20 which she is repaying.
