  • A 20 year old man was offered a Formal Caution after a successful investigation by Solihull Council Benefit Fraud investigation Team. He had failed to report that he had started to receive Tax Credits. In addition to this he is having to repay the £454.10 Housing Benefit overpaid to him.
  • A 43 year old woman accepted a Formal Caution after a successful investigation by Solihull Council Benefit Fraud Investigation Team. She had failed to report that she had changed employment from part time to full time and was receiving extra earned income. In addition to this she is having to repay Housing Benefit £ 503.60 and Council Tax Benefit £ 150.49 overpaid to her.
  • A 49 year old woman from Castle Bromwich was prosecuted after a successful investigation by Solihull Council Benefit Investigation Team. She had dishonestly failed to report that she had commenced employment. She attended Solihull Magistrates Court and pleaded guilty to the charge. She was given a community order for 12 months of unpaid work totalling 150 hours, and has to pay £100 towards costs. She also has to repay the £14,985.27 Housing and Council Tax Benefit overpaid to her.
  • A 57 year old Solihull man was prosecuted after a successful investigation by Solihull Council Benefit Investigation Team. He had failed to report that he had commenced employment in 2005. He attended Solihull Magistrates Court and pleaded guilty to failing to report his work. He was fined £100 and has to repay costs of £165 as well as the £1,706.26 Council Tax Benefit overpaid to him.
