  • A 33 year old woman from Shirley, Solihull was prosecuted and given a sentence of 60 hours unpaid work following a successful investigation by the Council’s Benefit Fraud Team. She failed to declare to the Council that she had an increase in her tax credits resulting in an overpayment of Housing Benefit which is now being repaid.
  • A 29 year old woman from Solihull, accepted a Formal Caution following a successful investigation by the Council’s Benefit Fraud Team. She failed to declare to the Council that she had received an increase in her Tax Credits. The discrepancy was identified as part of a data matching exercise . A total overpayment of £3908.60 is now being recovered from the customer.
