Solihull Children's Book Award 2010
The aim of the Solihull Children's Book Award is to encourage reading among young people aged 9 - 13. Young people choose the short-listed three books and the winner. In 2010 Asda is sponsoring the award and will buy the 3 shortlisted books for every primary and secondary school in Solihull.
The winner of the 2010 award was Cosmic' by Frank Cottrell Boyce, pictured here at the awards ceremony with two pupils from Lode Heath School. The ceremony at Solihull Library Theatre was attended by nearly 300 children from 14 primary and secondary schools from across the whole of Solihull.
Andrew Norriss and Karen Ball (aka Maya Snow), the other shortlisted authors were also present on the day and spoke about the ideas that sparked their novels and the work that goes into creating a published book.
