Business Rates - Account Enquiries

Local Businesses can contact us for information about their individual business rate accounts including their current balance, the rateable value of their property and request a copy bill.

If you have just moved into a property please contact us, you will need to let us know so you can be billed correctly.

How can I pay the Business Rates bill?

Payments can be made in full by the date of the first instalment.

All Business Rates payers have the right to pay their yearly bills by monthly instalments normally over ten months, April to January (if the bill was produced within the March of the preceding financial year). Instalments can be arranged for the 1st or the 15th of each month. You can pay your business rates bill by:

• Direct Debit
  This is a simple, safe and speedy way to pay. It is the preferred method of payment with over 50% of business rate accounts for this borough paying by direct debit.
  • You have a money back guarantee from your bank in the event of an error, advance notice if the date or amount changes and the right to cancel at any time.
  • you only need to call our office with your bank details or complete a form once and your bank does the rest.
  • To pay by direct debit simply phone us on 0121 704 8175 with your bank details, download a Direct Debit Form, print it off, fill it in and send it back to the Business Rates Team at PO Box 1761, Council House, Solihull, West Midlands, B91 9RR or contact us for a form.
• Online
  Use our secure online payments service to pay Business Rates, you will need to have your debit or credit card and your Business Rates account reference number to hand.
• Telephone
  You can pay your business rates over the phone using your debit or credit card. Call our automatic payment line on 0121 704 0869. Lines are open 24 hours a day - seven days a week. You will need to have your debit or credit card and your Business Rates account reference number to hand.
• Post
  Make cheques payable to Solihull MBC. Write your eight digit account reference on the back of your cheque. Send your cheques to: PO Box 1761, Council House, Solihull, West Midlands, B91 9RR.
• In Person
  Make payment by Cash, Cheque or Card at Solihull Connect, Library Square, Solihull, Solihull Connect, Bluebell Centre, West Mall, Chelmsley Wood or Chelmsley Wood Area Housing Office, 6/8 Coppice Way, Chelmsley Wood, West Midlands, B37 5TX. 
• By Bacs  
  Make payment to Barclays Bank, Solihull MBC Business Rates account at Sort Code 20-07-71 and account number 604 74 320 quoting your eight digit account number.

Please remember whatever payment method you use to allow sufficient time for your payment to reach you account by the date payment is due. When making payments only quote your eight digit reference number found on your bill with no additional text, mis-quoting your reference number may delay payment and incur costs.
