Food Hygiene Training Courses
Solihull Council have been providing food hygiene training through their Environmental Health Food Safety Team for over 11 years now and have built up an extensive knowledge of the local area and the needs of it’s customers. Over 3,800 food handlers have been trained at our comfortable training rooms at the Civic Suite in Solihull.
Training
Training in food hygiene helps you and your staff comply with the law and keeps customers happy. By organising training for your staff with Solihull MBC you can benefit from our knowledge of food and hygiene in many different catering outlets. Traning is informal, relaxed, informative and sometime even fun!
Course Details and Dates
Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering £63.00*
(*rising to £63.50 from 1st April 2013)
This one day training course takes candidates through the main principles of food hygiene. Aimed at high risk food handlers, it meets the Level 2 requirements of Awarding Bodies and Evironmenal Health Officerss and concludes with a short assessment.
Successful candidates are awarded the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

All these courses are held at our Civic Suite in Solihull Town Centre between the hours of 0930 -1700 and include lunch and refreshments. Alternatively courses can be arranged to suit an organisation’s individual needs at their own premises for 8 or more candidates.
Food Hygiene Awareness/Refesher £39.00*
(*rising to £40.50 from 1st April 2013)
A course designed as a refresher for holders of the Level 2 Award to update their training and/or provide the essentials of food hygiene for low risk food handlers.
The ideal course for Level 2 holders whose training is more than 3 years old, or staff not directly handling high-risk foods such as care workers, bar and retail staff. All courses will take place at the Civic Suite.

Hazard Analysis/SFBB
It is a legal requirement for all food businesses to have a documented Food Safety Management System. For larger food operations, a full Hazard Analysis is required, but smaller food businesses can use the Safer Food, Better Business (SFBB) pack from the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
