185Cab03 Arms Length Management - Communications Plan The Cabinet:

approved the proposed plan for communicating the Council's Arms Length Management proposals to tenants and leaseholders.; and

approved the proposed methods of testing tenant opinion on the Council's Arms Length Management proposals.

To agree a plan for communicating the Council's Arms Length Management proposals to tenants and leaseholders and agree on the methods to be used to test tenant opinion. 12 September 2003  
186Cab03 Best Value Review Report on Support for the Voluntary and Community Sectors The Cabinet:-

approved the recommendations of the BVR report; and

approved the revised draft Council policy as set out in the Local Compact Agreement.

To seek approval for the next stages of work in relation to the review and seek comments on the draft compact. 12 September 2003  
187Cab03 Education Asset Management Plan and Capital Programme Update The Cabinet :

 approved revisions to the Capital Programme;

 authorised the Director of Education and Children’s Services to consult as described in the report; and

authorised the Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services to approve the BSF bids as detailed in the report to optimise the benefit for Solihull.

To receive information on the latest developments of the Education Asset Management Plan including:-

Amendments to the Capital Programme

Progress with major schemes

DfES views of Solihull and its needs

New initiative for Secondary Schools Capital

188Cab03 Solihull Economic Development Strategy The Cabinet received and noted the draft Economic Development Strategy for Solihull. For Cabinet to note and comment on the draft Economic Development Strategy for Solihull (attached at Appendix 1) and receive a verbal update from the meeting of the Solihull Business Partnership on 2 September 2003 at which the draft was considered.  The strategy is being developed by the SBP and will be one of the key documents underpinning the implementation of the Community Strategy 12 September 2003  
189Cab03 Forward Plan The Leader of the Council approved the Forward Plan. To approve the Forward Plan for the next 4 months 12 September 2003
