Taxi Rank Marshals |
To approve that the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership administer the scheme; that the Police take the lead; and to recommend that the CDRP apply for future funding from Government Office. Regeneration and Community Safety Scrutiny Recommendations:- (i) The Board recommended that the pilot should be conducted over a period of not less than 3 months; (ii) The Board recommended that Officers should pursue all necessary actions to secure the allocation of funds for the pilot scheme; (iii) The Board accepted the offer from the Joint Head of Crime to pursue funding options through the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership; and (iv) The Board requested a report be brought back to the Board following a review of the pilot Taxi Rank Marshal scheme. |
To agree to the most effective arrangements for managing the taxi rank marshal scheme and recommending that the CDRP bid for funding from Government Office. The Regeneration and Community Safety Scrutiny Board on the 7 July 2004 agreed to include Hackney Carriage Rank Marshals on its work programme as an issue for Policy Development for the 2004/05 Civic Year. They identified this as their highest priority, and came to a series of recommendations that need to be endorsed by the Cabinet Member for Community Safety for legitimate executive endorsed officer action. The Scrutiny Board requests feedback as to the executive decisions made by the Cabinet Member for Community Safety on the basis of the Boards proposed recommendations.

The Cabinet Member for Community Safety is asked to:- (i) note the Cabinet guidance in respect of the proposed budget framework; (ii) work with Cabinet Spokespersons, the Chief Executive and Lead Corporate Directors to identify the potential for savings or efficiency gains to help fund any new priorities or inflationary pressures within their portfolio's budget; and (iii) work with Cabinet spokespersons and the Lead Director to approve schemes to be evaluated against the Capital Project Appraisal System |
