Proposed Naming Of Centre [Faulkner Road]

To endorse the suggested name of the Meadow Centre, Lena Carbis Hall, 36 Faulkner Road, Solihull with effect from the date the new centre becomes operational.

To adopt a new name for these premises consequent upon a permanent change of use involving the co-location of the Social Services Children's Disability Team and the Solihull Primary Care Trust Child Development Centre and Autism Service with effect from 1 July consistent with the provisions of a Health Act Felxibilities Agreement approved by the former Social Services Commissioning Working Group in April 2002.

The proposed name is "The Meadow Centre, Lena Carbis Hall, 36 Faulkner Road, Solihull" and would come into effect from 1 July 2002.

Note on Consultation:

The proposed name has emerged following consultation with parents of disabled children. It reflects their preference and is supported by the professionals who will work there. The full address retains the current address of Lena Carbis Hall, in continued recognition of the contribution, which made the original building possible.

The proposed name reflects the parental wish for a unique name which is not discriminating or labelling, and which does not identify the premises with a particular service provider and the spirit of co-operation in which this joint venture has been entered. It is hoped the new name will also give the co-located services a fresh identity consistent with the strong sense of partnership working that has developed.
