COMPLAINT [SSD/368/C

The Cabinet Portfolio holder for Education and Children

 (i) Received and noted the outcome of the Complaints Review Panel;

 (ii) Endorsed the directorate response; and

(iii) Authorised the Chief Executive to inform the Complainant, and Review Panel Chairman accordingly.

To consider the outcome of a Review Panel, held on 17 October 2002, and give effect to its conclusions and recommendations.

School Organisation in Kingshurst

The Cabinet Portfolio holder for Education and Children agreed:

(i) To commence a period of non statutory formal consultation on the proposal to amalgamate Fordbridge Infant School and Kingshurst Infant School with effect from September 2003

(ii) To approve in principle, the appropriate staff safeguarding arrangements.

(iii) The consultation process to include views regarding the potential future uses of the Fordbridge site, and where community facilities could be enhanced

(iv) To commission detailed work to be carried out regarding the funding implications and potential sources of funding.

 (v) To request that a special meeting of the Education and Children Overview and Scrutiny Board be arranged following the conclusion of the consultation period on 21 February 2003, to consider the responses received and form a recommendation to the Portfolio holder for Education and Children
