Home to School Transport Review |
The Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services
(i) Agreed to receive further detailed reports on: -
- The implementation of any change which could be immediate after due notice;
- The existing areas of discretion in transport policies should be considered for removal; (section 1)
- The introduction of a formal application for travel assistance for SEN and Care cases and referral to an Officer panel when appropriate (section 5)
- The examination, in conjunction with the Cabinet Member for Social Care and Health of the potential for dual use of contract mini buses; (section 6)
- The creation of special school catchment zones to reduce out-Borough placements, and/or North/South travel, and/or the inclusion of the rural East in the North zone; (section 8)
- Authorise officers to work up any proposals in further detail consulting stakeholders as appropriate and report back;
Agreed the retention of the client commissioning the role and transfer of all vehicle operational management from Education and children’s Services to Resources from April 2006 under a Service Level Agreement; (section 6); and
(iv) Agreed the list of direct options for consideration available as a consequence of SCIL opening next year; (section 7)
