The Cabinet Member:

(a) approved the Annual Report and Accounts; and

(b) endorsed progress on the footpath negotiations and the possible future land purchase.

Petition - concern regarding incidents of anti-social behaviour in and around Elmdon Park.

The Cabinet Member received the petition and endorsed the proposed action.

Draft Urban Forestry Strategy

The Cabinet Member:

(i) noted and considered the comments of the Regeneration, Environment & Leisure Overview and Scrutiny Board concerning the draft Urban Forestry Strategy; and

(ii) agreed to submit the documents to a consultation exercise, the results of which will be reported to a future meeting of the Environment & Leisure Cabinet Portfolio.

 

To approve the final draft of the Urban Forestry Strategy and to the undertaking of a consultation exercise.

Fees and Charges Leisure 2004-5

The Cabinet Member approved the new schedule of fees and charges for Leisure.

 

To approve a new schedule of fees and charges for Tudor Grange, Norman Green and North Solihull Sports Centres', effective from 1 January 2004.

Leisure PPP Long List

The Cabinet Member made the following recommendations to Cabinet:

(a) To approve the recommended short list of three companies for the Leisure PPP; and

(b) To agree to progress to Invitation to Negotiate.

 

To agree the long list of Companies, from the Invitation to Participate section of the procurement procedure, to progress to the Invitation to Submit Outline Proposal stage.

Leisure Related LPSA Targets

The Cabinet Member deferred a decision to a subsequent meeting to allow further information to be obtained from Officers.

To inform the Cabinet Member of the Leisure-related LPSA targets, and their likely impact on services.

To approve the use of the LPSA pump prime grant to fund the new posts.

Countryside Stewardship Scheme Malvern and Brueton Park

The Cabinet Member:

(i) agreed to the approval of the application for the 10 year Countryside Stewardship Grant for Malvern and Brueton Nature Reserve.

(ii) endorsed the work undertaken by Officers in attaining this valuable source of funding from Defra.

To inform the Cabinet Member of the successful application for Countryside Stewardship at Malvern and Brueton Park and seek approval to proceed with the scheme.
