140Hcs04 Annual Procurement Programme The Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community Safety:

(i)  approved the invitation of the tenders as set out in the report;

(ii)  Approved the extension of the maintenance contracts as outlined in the report;

(iii)  Approved the request to enter into negotiations for the maintenance of roof fans and aerial equipment; and

(iv)   noted the outcome of the negotiation for the upgrading of call handling equipment in the Housing Services Contact Centre.

To approve the extension of a number of existing contracts, to approve the use of negotiation in exceptional circumstances and to approve the invitation of tenders in accordance with standing orders, for the attached list of Revenue funded contracts. 6 February 2004

142Hcs04 Service Charge Treatment - Small Area Regeneration (SAR) 2003/04 The Cabinet Portfolio for Housing and Community Safety agreed to the Council meeting the costs associated with the improvement works in SAR 5, 6 and any subsequent SAR scheme and not to charge lessees such amounts as part of a service charge. 143Hcs04 Implementation strategy for CCTV The Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community Safety:-

approved the appointment of two specialist firms to produce a fully costed feasibility study for the three CCTV business options set out in the report; and

agreed to receive a further report concerning the CCTV strategy when the recommendation from the specialist has been received.

To propose a way forward for the implementation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) to high-rise blocks and other assets. 6 February 2004
