To endorse the Best Value report presented to Performance Management Panel on 11.3.02 and approve the Action Plan arising out of it and further endorse the introduction of Area Caretaking principles throughout the Borough on a 3 year phased programme.

To allow for the implementation of the recommendations within the Best Value report which will involve changes to service delivery resulting in improved levels of performance when providing caretaking services, estate inspections, dealing with abandoned vehicles and low rise cleaning provision

Floating Support Scheme for People with Learning Disabilities

To approve a variation in tenancy for the eight SMBC tenants who will receive assistance through the Floating Support scheme and to delegate to the Director of Housing and Regeneration approval of tenancy variation agreements in respect of floating support schemes.

To seek approval for a variation in tenancy for eight SMBC tenants who will receive assistance through a Floating Support Scheme designed for people with learning disabilities from the Bromford Housing Group

To consider and endorse the West Midlands Protocol for the Accommodation of Sex Offenders

To facilitate adoption of a regional protocol designed to clarify issues and arrangements in relation to the accommodation of sex offenders and to secure a more consistent approach across the seven West Midlands districts.

Petition against the proposed siting of a Women's Refuge in the Hobs Moat Area

To seek approval for the work undertaken by the Housing and Regeneration Department to work in liaison with residents of the Hobs Moat Area in the proposed development of the refuge.

To inform the Cabinet Member for Housing and Community Safety of a petition received from residents of the Hobs Moat area against the siting of a Women's Refuge in the vicinity of their home

To permit CCTV Manager to assist Bickenhill Parish Council with research and installation of a CCTV system at Marston Green and offer provision of monitoring and maintenance services - finance to be found by Bickenhill Parish Council

Crime And Disorder Action Plan 2002-2003

To endorse the action plan as submitted.

To receive the draft domestic violence strategy at the next decision session

To seek the views of the Community Safety Task and Finish Group on the development of the local strategy

To endorse the multi agency action plan agreed by the Crime and Disorder Thematic Partnership at its meeting in June 2002 and to enable implementation consistent with the Strategy Approved in March 2002.

The views of the Community Safety Task and Finish Group on the development of the approved Crime and Disorder Strategy approved in March 2002 will be sought consistent with the Executive-Scrutiny arrangements adopted by the Council.

To receive a draft, detailed strategy on Domestic Violence developed from the 2002-03 action plan

Street Crime Action Plan

To endorse the action plan as submitted and as being consistent with the approved Crime and Disorder Strategy.

To endorse, on behalf of the Council, the Street Crime Action Plan agreed by the Crime and Disorder Thematic Partnership and which has been submitted to the Home Office and will be reported to the Local Strategic Partnership at its next meeting.

[Note: the Street Crime Action Plan is consistent with and will form part of the approved multi-agency Crime and Disorder Strategy for Solihull.]

The Community Safety Task and Finish Group will be asked to comment on the strategy in the context of the general development of the agreed local Crime and Disorder Strategy.

To approve the award of the contract to Academy Information Systems for the supply of a Repairs Diagnostics System.

Sale of Land at Heath Gardens

To accept an offer from Harden Housing Association for the purchase of this land.

In September 2001 Housing Committee approved the sale of this land and authorised the Director of Housing in consultation with the Chairman and Vice chairman to approve final terms.

Harden Housing Association have requested a reduction of the original valuation due to additional development costs associated with draining the site.
