That the extinguishment of the highway rights on a strip of land in Harvest Hill Lane in front of the property at The Oaks, Hollyberry End be agreed, and that the Chief Executive be authorised to process an appropriate highway closure Order through the Magistrates’ Court. To consider a request from the prospective purchasers of The Oaks at Hollyberry End for a partial closure of the public highway in Harvest Hill Lane.

Proposed Total Prohibition of Waiting Restrictions

(i)                   that the Chief Executive be authorised to prepare and advertises a suitable Traffic Regulation Order, and

(ii) subject to there being no objections received by the Council, the introduction of the above proposals be approved.

To consider proposals to extend the existing Total Prohibition of Waiting Restrictions along the new section of the Stratford Road Service Road to the rear of the Aldi Store in Shirley.

Green Lane, Shirley (Shirley west Ward) - extension of total prohibition of waiting

That the decision be deferred pending the development of High Street Solihull Lodge Scheme.

To seek approval to extend the existing Total Prohibition of Waiting on the southern side of Green Lane for a short distance, near the junction with Haslucks Green Road.

Bus Passenger Shelter Provision  - 2002/2003.

The provision of bus passenger shelters be approved subject to Centro consulting with residents/properties in the vicinity of the proposed shelters and resolving any concerns satisfactorily.

To consider and confirm Centro's programme for bus passenger shelter provision during the existing financial year 2002/2003.

The Square, Solihull (St Alphege Ward) -
Proposed Total Prohibition of Loading and Unloading

(i) That the Chief Executive be authorised to prepare and advertise the appropriate Traffic Regulation Order; and

(ii) subject to there being no objections received by the Council, the introduction of the above proposals, as shown on Plan No. 6065 be approved.

To seek approval to the introduction of a Total Prohibition of Loading and Unloading in the existing bus lay-bys located on both sides of The Square, in the vicinity of St. Alphege Church.

Land at Purnells Way, Knowle - Request for Highway Closure on Part of Public Highway Verge.

That the decision be deferred to enable full consultation

To consider a request from the owner of 130 Purnells Way to extinguish the highway rights on part of the adopted public highway grass verge.

Hampton-In-Arden Village Traffic Calming – Safety Cameras

That the two sites in Hampton in Arden Village be submitted to the West Midlands Casualty Reduction Partnership as possible locations for future Gatso safety cameras under the cost recovery scheme, and if accepted, that further consultation be held with local residents.

To consider an alternative speed reduction option to the Village Green Enhancement Scheme in the centre of Hampton-in-Arden Village.

Highway Management -Resources

That the proposals for Temporary staff contracts for an initial period of 3 years be agreed.

To seek approval for the appointment of 3 fixed term contract posts to manage the increase in allocation of the Local Transport Plan (LTP) funding for structural maintenance, and; approval for 1 fixed term contract post to manage work associated with Section 74 and 74(a) of the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 (NRSWA 1991).

That the actions taken by the Director of Environment Services in redesignating the posts highlighted  be noted.
