Extra Care Accommodation Grant Application

Cabinet Member approved the:

     (i)     Submission of bids to the DOH for extra care accomodation grants and to the housing corporation; and

    (ii)     Consideration by Officers of providers who might be able to do a mixed buy and rent scheme and enter into direct discussions with providers in partnership with Solihull Community Housing.

To promote the independence of older people and create a framework of service consistent with the relevant National Service Framework and The Adult Social Services Older Peoples Extra Care Accommodation Strategy

Supported Capital Expenditure 2005-06

Cabinet Member approved the allocation of the Adult Social Care supported Capital Spend to be used for adult minor works to improve social care properties.

To seek Cabinet Member approval for allocation of the supported capital expenditure allocation for Adult Social Services for 2005/06.

Enforcement Strategy: Dog Control

The Cabinet Member:

     (i)     Agreed the dog control enforcement strategy for Solihull as detailed in appendix 1; and

(ii) Agreed to receive a further report on the dog control provisions of the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 as relevant provisions are introduced.

To adopt a strategy in relation to dog fouling and dog control

Enforcement Strategy: Abandoned and Nuisance Vehicles

The Cabinet Member:-

(i) Agreed the nuisance and abandoned vehicle enforcement strategy for Solihull as detailed in appendix 1; and

    (ii)     Agreed to receive a further report relating to the new provisions of the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 as relevant provisions are introduced.

 

To adopt an enforcement strategy in relation to abandoned and nuisance vehicles.

Noise from Tesco Superstore

The Cabinet Member:-

(i) Noted the action taken following the receipt of a petition in relation to noise from Tesco Superstore; and

(ii) To receive a report giving an update on the situation in six months time.

Domiciliary Care Purchase

The Cabinet Member approved the award of a 'block contract' with provider 'A'  subject to the issue of a contact by the Service Director Adult Social Services.

 

Enable continuity of domiciliary care contracts for the provision of support services to vulnerable people living in their own homes consistent with the achievement of best value.

(i) Authorise Officers to initiate and conclude discussions with 'BID' in respect of a new five year agreement, and

     (i)     Receive a further report on the outcome of the discussions with 'BID'.
