Hurdis Road, Proposed Alterations to Existing Traffic Calming Measures

To note the proposals to amend the existing traffic calming measures along Hurdis Road, including the reduction in the number of road humps from nos. 12 to 10 on a trial basis.

To advise the Cabinet Member of a proposal to carry out alterations to the existing traffic calming measures along Hurdis Road, Shirley as part of planned carriageway.

Monitoring and Review of Walking Strategies

To note the progress made towards achieving the aims of the Walking Strategy and to endorse the revision of the strategy following the publication of the Rights of Way Improvement Plan as set out in the report.

To review progress towards delivering the Council’s vision for walking as set out in the Walking Strategy and to consider a revision of the Strategy in the light of the evolving Rights of Way Improvement Plan.

Local Safety Scheme – A4141 Warwick Road (South Of Knowle To Chadwick End)

To approve the implementation of a new signing and carriageway marking scheme to indicate the degree of severity of each bend on the Warwick Road between Knowle and Chadwick End.

To recommend measures to improve road safety on A4141 Warwick Road as part of the Local Safety Scheme programme for 2005/06.

Highway Improvement Line Review

To approve the revocation of the Improvement Lines as listed below:

Vicarage Road  - junction of Windmill Lane and Packwood Road;

Box Trees Road – opposite Four Ashes Road; and

Four Ashes Road – junction of Gate Lane.

To review the retained highway improvement lines in the Borough and to agree to the revoking of further improvement lines no longer considered a requirement by the Highway Authority.

To approve the consultation with the Landlords/tenants to improve the private forecourt.

Proposed Alterations to On Street Parking – Station Road, Solihull

To agree that Officers proceed to advertise a Traffic Regulation Order as shown on Plan No. 6471/1 and, if no objections are received, to implement the proposals.

To seek approval to improve road safety by removing a number of on street parking spaces in the service road alongside Yates Wine Bar, Station Road, Solihull.

Request for Approval for The Action Plan to Reduce The Overspend Carry-Forward from 2004-05 Final Accounts Process

To approve the action plan to reduce the carry-forward of the overspend of £107k into 2005‑06, subject to approval by Cabinet Member for Local Services to offset part of the underspend on Local Services and subject to Full Cabinet approval on the 4 August 2005.

 

To request approval for the action plan to reduce the overspend on Transport & Highways Cabinet from the 2004-05 final accounts to the 2005-06 financial year, subject to approval by full Cabinet on the 4th August 2005.
