Solihull's Equalities Team
A summary of the work of the Equalities Team and contact information.
The Equalities Team is a corporate resource, working with all service areas to improve access to services and opportunities. We provide a consultancy service for the Council on equality and diversity issues, providing advice and support to Council departments on aspects of equality law and best practice:
- We support the Council to develop and monitor policies and strategies that promote equality and in all other ways meet our legislative duties and policy commitments in equality and diversity matters.
- We advise individual managers on promoting equality in service delivery and employment.
- We provide training to elected members and employees on a wide range of equality and diversity issues.
- We offer advice to staff and members of the public on equality issues affecting Solihull Borough Council.
- We equality monitor our workforce and employment policies to make sure all staff are treated fairly and in accordance with their individual requirements.
