Full payment is required no later than 8 weeks prior to the ceremony date; there is no refund if full payment is not received by the due date. Solihull reserves the right to cancel the booking where payment has not been received by the due date.

Payment for certificates

Must be made at the time of booking, (a full refund of the certificate costs will be given should the ceremony not go ahead). A confirmation letter will be sent to confirm the booking and payment.

If you get married at:

  • Solihull Register Office: the cost varies please see fees list.
  • An approved location: you will need to pay
    • a fee to the owner of the location
    • a fee for the attendance of the Registration Officers (this depends on the day of the week).
  • A Place of Religious Worship: you will need to pay
    • a fee to the Minister of the Building (variable)
    • a fee (payable on the day) to the Registrar (if required to register the marriage).
  • A Church of England or Church in Wales: a fee to the incumbent of the church. A Registrar is not normally present at these ceremonies.

All fees are subject to an annual review

Terms & Conditions of booking

Deposit

A deposit is payable at the time of booking which is non refundable if the event is cancelled.

Balance due date

Full payment is required no later than 8 weeks prior to the ceremony date; there is no  refund of the deposit if full payment is not received by the due date and the event is cancelled. Solihull reserves the right to cancel the booking where payment has not been received by the due date.

Certificates

Due to limited time at your ceremony it may only be possible to issue one certificate on the day, if you have ordered extra copies, the remaining certificates will be posted to you within 5 days. 

Amendments to your date, time or venue

Changes to your ceremony time, date or venue are subject to a £21.00 administration fee, payable at the time of requesting the change.

Cancellation

If you decide to cancel your event you must let us know in  writing to:

or by email connectcc@solihull.gov.uk. Any deposit paid will not be refunded.

Refunds

  • Cancellation more than 8 weeks prior to ceremony  - We will refund the amount paid less deposit
  • Cancellation 8 weeks or less prior to ceremony - No refund of ceremony costs (certificates only)
  • Failure to attend on the day - No refund for ceremony costs (certificates only)
  • Payment made for certificate(s) will be refunded in full in any event

Arrival at the Venue

It is important that your ceremony starts promptly as the registrars may have to go on to conduct another ceremony.

We ask that you arrive with your guests no later than 15 minutes before the ceremony.

Please allow extra time for trvelling and parking during busy periods such as Christmas, Easter & New Year or if you plan to have photographs taken before the Ceremony.

If you arrive late we reserve the right to postpone the ceremony.
