Question: What name should I sign the register with?
Answer: The register must be signed with the name used during the ceremony, this is usually the name given a the notice of marriage

Question: Do I have to live in Solihull to get married in Solihull?
Answer:Any European Community (EC) citizen who lives in England or Wales can get married in Solihull subject to availability. Notice of the marriage has to be given at your local registration office. You should complete the Marriage Provisional Booking Form before arranging to give notice If one of the parties is from a Foreign national they will need to attend a designated Register Officer (Coventry or Birmingham are the two nearest offices to Solihull) to obtain approval for marriage.
Question: What if one or both of us speak only a little English ?
Answer: You will need to bring an interpreter with you to your notice appointment and also to your ceremony to translate what is being said to you. This can be a relative or friend who speaks good English but cannot be your partner. You will also need to bring one each if both of you need translators. Each translator will be classed as one of your witnesses at the ceremony.
Question: Can I bring a horse & carriage?

Answer: Your passport needs to be in the same name as your tickets so if you have booked your honeymoon in your maiden name wait until you have returned from your honeymoon. If you need to change your name on your passport you can obtain a PD2 form from any passport agency.
