Robin Hood Cemetery and Crematorium is situated on the Junction of Streetsbrook Road and Olton Road, half a mile from the A34 Stratford Road. The Cemetery grounds which opened in 1917, covers an area of 45 acres, a Cemetery Chapel was constructed in 1931, the extensive grounds consist of ancient woodland, with traditional and lawn grave sections.

The Crematorium was opened in 1958, and to make the necessary provision for cremation facilities, the cemetery chapel was modified and the buildings extended. The Chapel and Flower Terrace were completely refurbished during 2005, in addition improved access has been provided for the disabled and wheelchair users.

The extensive landscaped Gardens of Remembrance, contain a wide variety of trees shrubs and roses, many of which are available for memorialisation. In addition other memorial facilities are available within the cemetery grounds including a Book of Remembrance and benches.

Robin Hood cemetery has a limited number of full size graves and cremated remains burial plots. Interments are also permitted within Robin Hood Cemetery in existing full sized graves or Cremated Remains graves where spare capacity is available. However, Above Ground Vaults for Cremated Remains were introduced in 2005 and are currently available, each purchased vault will hold up to 2 sets of cremated remains and are available for renewable lease periods of 20, 40 or 80 years.

Situated on the B4114, Birmingham Road between Bacon's End and Coleshill, the cemetery was opened in 1984 and initially accommodated lawn graves and cremated remains graves.

In November 2000 the existing cemetery chapel was modified and extended to make provision for the Crematorium. The style and architecture was carefully planned to match the existing building and is sympathetic to its rural location. Adjacent to the Chapel entrance is a separate building housing a Remembrance Book Room and a waiting room with toilets. The Cemetery and Crematorium serves the needs of the bereaved of both Solihull Borough and Coleshill.

The cemetery has an extensive woodland area containing an ancient decoy pool. The area is a magnificent sight in the spring when it is filled with native Bluebells.

Since the development of the crematorium a number of memorial schemes including; Memorial trees, shrubs and benches have been introduced, further developed of the Gardens of Remembrance and memorial options are currently under consideration.

It is planned to develop an area of land during 2006/2007, which is within the site boundary for the provision of future burial provision and will provide full sized graves and cremated remains graves.

Widney Manor Cemetery was opened in 1992 following the closure of Robin Hood Cemetery and is situated on Widney Manor Road, Bentley Heath. In a rural setting the cemetery accommodates lawn graves and cremated remains graves. There is also an area set aside for the strewing of cremated remains.

Current types of commemoration include; Memorial trees, roses and benches.

Widney Manor Cemetery is administered from Robin Hood Cemetery Office where all enquires should be directed.

Offices are open at Robin Hood and at Woodlands from 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
