Renewal of Marriage Vows

This ceremony is for married couples who wish to celebrate renewing their marriage vows in a unique and personal ceremony. The Ceremony could be to celebrate a special anniversary such as tenth or twenty-fifth, but the ceremony is just as appropriate at any stage of marriage.  Many couples who marry abroad choose to renew their marriage vows in a special ceremony held for family and friends on their return.

Where can the Ceremony take place?

The ceremony can be held:

  • Within one of our register offices at Solihull or Chelmsley Wood
  • Within the ceremony suite (situated within the register office at Solihull)
  • At  a Venue (i.e. hotel) a list is shown below.

Order of ceremony

Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremony may contain the following sections but will be personalised to your own requirements:

  • Introduction and Welcome by the Ceremony Officer
  • Readings
  • Renewal of Vows
  • Rededication of Ring(s) or
  • Giving of New Ring(s)
  • Acknowledgement of any children
  • Words or Reading from previous wedding guest e.g. Best Man/Bridesmaid
  • Witnesses
  • Closing Words

Is there a Certificate?

A souvenir Certificate is signed at the end of the ceremony by the couple, two witnesses and the ceremony officer.

How long does the Ceremony last?

This will depend on the number of elements you wish to include and the room you choose. However, we recommend you allow about 30 minutes for the register office and about 45 minutes for the Ceremony Suite and other venues.

How much will it cost?

Who can have the Ceremony?

Any married couple of any age and married for any length of time. You do not need to live in the area where you want your ceremony.

Does the Ceremony have any legal status?

NO.  The ceremony has no legal status and is not legally binding on those who participate. 

Does the Ceremony have any religious content?

NO.  The ceremony is non religious.

How do I arrange to book a Ceremony?

Complete and return the booking form which you can download and print. The form is included with the information pack attached on the right of this page.

If you prefer you can make your booking by telephone on 0121 704 8002, the agent will ask you the same questions shown in the form and will take payment by Debit card or Credit Card.
