New arrangements for Careers Support
If you are aged 13-19 years old, there are important changes to how you will access careers support.
From 1st April 2012 a new online National Careers Service will provide information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training and work opportunities. The service offers confidential, helpful and impartial advice, supported by qualified careers advisers. From April check out their new website for loads of information and how to get in touch.
From 1st September 2012 schools will have a legal responsibility to make sure pupils get impartial careers information, advice and guidance.
Connexions Solihull will provide a specialist careers guidance support service for 16-18 year olds who are not in education, employment or training in Solihull, and some more vulnerable young people who need support services.
We will continue to help young people to access careers support until the new arrangements are fully in place in September.
