What is Connexions?
We don't seek to replace the support you can give, but we work to ensure that young people get the support and help they need. We offer advice and guidance on whatever young people need - a wide range of issues including choices and options at school, careers, work and study through to housing, drugs, money, health, leisure and more…
Solihull Connexions Services is the local part of a government-funded service which offers information advice and guidance to all young people aged between 13 and 19 (or up to 25 with a disability). Young people will have access to a Connexions Personal Adviser at school or college, or at a Connexions Centre in Solihull. The level of support will vary considerably, with some young people only needing to know how to access information on learning and career options, whereas others may need intensive one to one support over a long period of time, to help remove any barriers they have to learning.
We encourage young people to develop their talents and interests, to build on their strengths and to achieve their full potential.
Connexions is also available through the national website Direct Gov for Young People. Advisers are available to offer information, advice and support to 13-19 year olds between 8am and 2am everyday. You can use the phone and call back service on 080 800 13219; text on 07766 413219; textphone on 08000 968336; or use email; webchat (one-to-one confidential session); or moderated chat room and message board.
