This new edition for 2012 leavers will help you to make decisions about what to do when you finish Year 11.  It covers Your Options, Career Planning, World of Work, Education, Apprenticeships, Jobs, and Finding More Help, and is designed to be used alongside the Local Area Prospectus (LAP) where you can search for courses and training opportunities in Solihull and Birmingham.

This booklet is a guide for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, their parents/carers and professionals.  You play a crucial role in making choices and understanding the basic options.  This booklet can help by:-

  • Answering some of the questions you might have about young peoples' progression through school and beyond
  • Providing useful and important information, such as the main choices on offer at 16 years old and beyond to help young people and their parents/carers become involved in decision-making
  • Signposting you to the main local sources of help, information and advice available

It tells you about the different things you can do at the end of school and it can help you to make up your mind about what to do next.
