Parking near a school
We have launched an initiative to help tackle the issue of inconsiderate parking near schools during the morning drop-off and afternoon pick up periods.
In support of this initiative, from Monday 15 April for twelve weeks the schools below will be subject to intensive parking enforcement:
- Balsall Common Primary School
- Berkswell C of E Voluntary Aided Primary School
- Bishop Wilson C of E Primary School
- Burman Infant School
- Dorridge Nursery, Infant and Junior School
- Monkspath Junior & Infant School
If your children attend any of these schools, if you work at any of the schools or if you are a pedestrian or driver who walks or drives past the school, we are keen to know if you think the initiative has reduced parking around the school; so please spend a few minutes filling in this survey.

Did you visit? Is it something you would like to see return in 2013? Is there something else you would like to see in its place?
Your feedback will help with our planning for this Christmas.
Have your say on changes to how we run the mental health community recovery service
We have been looking at how we run our mental health community recovery service and we want to make some changes, but before we do, we want to consult people about our ideas.
The job of the community recovery team is to help people who are recovering from an episode of mental illness to get their life back on track and continue to live their life with their illness. We think that if we make a few changes to how we do things, we will be better able to do this.
Please take the time to read the information booklet we have put together about our proposals before you complete this feedback form.
Independent Living and Extra Care Housing Strategy: Consultation
The Independent Living and Extra Care Housing Strategy, seeks to plan future services for all age groups and disabilities including those with mental health needs and the needs of vulnerable young people making the transition to adulthood.
There are two main strategic objectives:
- to enable vulnerable people to continue to live independently in their own homes through provision of support services
- to encourage provision of a wider range of suitable and affordable independent accommodation for people who need or choose to move.
The draft strategy can be accessed at: http://www.solihull.gov.uk/policies/28526.htm
The consultation includes a stakeholder event on 22nd October at Solihull College, Blossomfield Road Campus which will bring together all those with an interest in these issues and a contribution to make. This will also inform the consultation on the overall housing strategy
Following the consultation period there will be consideration by Members at scrutiny. The final draft of the strategy will then be considered for approval by full Cabinet on 20th December. Subject to its approval the strategy will be effective from the start of 2013.

Leisure services for children with disabilities
We have recently invested money into leisure services for children and young people with disabilities. The money we used was grant funding from DCATCH and came from the government.
So that we can continue to improve leisure services for children and young people with disabilities we would like you to spend some time telling us how we can further improve and what you think we need to do next.
This survey can be filled in by parents of a child with a disability or by a young person themselves.
