Neighbourhood Management

The Neighbourhood Management Scheme aims to engage the public and involve them in how we should be providing our services, improving the links between the Council and the local community.

There are three Neighbourhood Managers across the borough and a number of Neighbourhood Co-ordinators assigned to each area.

What is Neighbourhood Management Here For?

The Neighbourhood Managers and Coordinators identify problems and problem areas within Solihull and work with partner organisations to tackle them. They have drawn up Local Area Action Plans to bring real improvements to the streetscene and local environment in the short and longer term. The aim of the Local Area Action Plans are to make your area a better place to live environmentally and to help to reduce the fear of crime.

The types of work range from:

  • Highways improvements
  • Landscaping projects
  • Cleaning up identified problem areas
  • Introducing measures to reduce vandalism and anti social behaviour
  • Providing street furniture

Do you have ideas on how your area can be improved?

Would you like to work with us to turn those ideas into a reality?

We want to work with you and other agencies, like the police, to improve the things in your neighbourhood that really matter to you, such as:

  • coming up with ways to solve problems around anti social behaviour
  • combating graffiti and litter
  • helping keep your streets clean

It's a big task, and we can't do it alone.

We have a Neighbourhood Team working in your area, who are keen to hear from you.
