White Sack Recycling Collection
Use your white woven sack to recycle your plastic bottles, household plastic packaging and food and drink cans.
We will collect your white woven sack every fortnight on the same day as your normal rubbish collection.
What can you put in your white woven sack?
Yes Please:
- Food trays (e.g. fruit punnets, trays from microwave meals)
- Food tubs (e.g. margarine, ice cream)
- Yoghurt pots
- Food cans/tins (moved from black box)
- Drinks cans/tins (moved from black box)
- Metal caps and lids (moved from black box)
- Aluminium food trays (moved from black box)
- Plastic milk bottles
- Pop bottles
- Washing up liquid bottles
- Make-up cleanser bottles
- Shampoo and conditioner bottles
- Household cleaning bottles
- Squash bottles, please put their caps on
No thanks:
- Flower pots
- Plastic film/wrapping
- Polystyrene
- Tetra packs such as juice cartons
- Aerosol cans
- Other metal items
- Carrier bags
What do I have to do on the day of my collection?
Please put your white woven sack out by 7.00am on the day of collection at the edge of your property (where it meets the pavement). If your home doesn't front directly onto the pavement or you live on a private drive, please place your sack where your boundary meets the pavement.
Assisted Collection Service
We have an Assisted Collection Service for residents who are unable to place their wheelie bins and recycling boxes and sack out for collection due to infirmity or disability.

If I haven't got enough space in my recycling box/sack provided, what should I do?
Any additional paper, glass, cans, tins, card, cardboard and plastic can be put into another container such as a cardboard box or other plastic box and left alongside your box/sack for collection. After emptying, your box/sack (including any additional containers) will be returned to your normal point of collection. -
Do I need to rinse out my tins, cans, plastic bottles and trays?
Yes please. Simply rinse out to remove any residue before putting in your sack.
