How to dispose of commercial waste
Solihull Council does not provide a commercial waste collection service nor can commercial waste be taken to Bickenhill Household Waste Recycling Centre to be disposed of.
What is commercial waste?
Any waste or recyclable material resulting from business based activities, where a payment is made for services rendered. This would include grass cuttings from garden services, for example.
Why can’t you accept commercial waste at Bickenhill Household Waste Recycling Centre?
The HWRC site is licensed by the Environment Agency and the conditions laid out do not permit us to accept trade waste.
What can I do with my commercial waste?
There are two options for you to dispose of your commercial waste:
- The first option is to set up a commercial waste collection.
- The second option is to dispose of the commercial waste yourself.
How can I set up a commercial waste collection?
You will need to contact a waste contractor to set up a collection. There are many waste contractors which operate in the Solihull area. You can look these up in the yellow pages or alternatively you can look up operators at waste directory or ship shape
Please ensure that when you use a waste contractor they are licensed.
How do I dispose of my commercial waste myself?
In order to dispose of commercial waste yourself you will need to ensure you have a waste carrier’s license. These can be obtained from the Environment Agency. You also need to ensure that the site you transport your waste to is licensed.
Where can I dispose of my commercial waste?
