Bulky Waste Collection Service

If you have a large item such as a piece of furniture or a fridge etc you wish to dispose of, we offer a Bulky Waste Collection Service at a small charge.

Alternatively, see our donating furniture to charity webpage to see if they are able to collect the item for free.

How do I arrange a collection?

Fill in the Bulky Waste Form and send it back to us with a cheque for the collection.

You can also arrange a collection and payment over the phone. Contact 0121 704 8000. Payment is taken at the time of booking using a credit or debit card.

Once Enterprise Managed Services Plc have received the form and payment, you will be contacted by them to arrange a mutually convenient day for collection. It is essential that a daytime telephone number is provided so we can contact you.

What you need to do

  • Items MUST be easily accessible for the collection vehicle - as near to the kerbside as possible also note items cannot be carried down steps 
  • Provide easy access to the items for collection
  • Put all the items outside. We will not enter a house, garage, shed or flat.
  • Do not fill items with other rubbish.
  • Bundle / secure together any loose items, e.g. rolled up carpets, tie together all pieces from any dismantled furniture.
  • Put the items out for collection by 7:30am

What we will do

  • Remove only the items booked and paid for, changes cannot be made.
  • Collect a maximum of ten black bags at any one time.
  • Inspect the items before we collect them if necessary.
  • Telephone you to arrange a collection day.

What we will not do

  • Remove items from inside a house, flat, garage or shed
  • Offer a house clearance service
  • Collect more than 10 items on one request
  • Disconnect or dismantle items
  • Collect any DIY waste such as rubble, bricks, tiles, boards and wood.
  • We retain the right to refuse a collection.

Completing and returning the form

  • If you have a credit or debit card you can request a bulky collection by telephoning Solihull Connect on 0121 704 8000.
  • You can visit Solihull Connect or your local Housing Office to request a collection.

  • Completed forms and payment must be returned by post to:

Cheques and postal orders must be made payable to Solihull MBC. DO NOT SEND CASH THROUGH THE POST

  • Green garden waste - a separate service is available
  • Bricks, concrete blocks, tiles and the like
  • Building materials, soil and rubble
  • Wood, timber, sheds and fencing
  • Car and engine parts
  • Sheet glass, windows and patio doors etc.
  • Storage heaters
  • Cast iron objects e.g. baths
  • Hazardous waste including asbestos and chemical waste
  • All liquids including cooking oil, petrol, engine oil, brake fluid etc
  • Pianos
  • Garage doors

The resident need not be present.
