Mini Recycling Centres

They are cleansed 3 times a week and if necessary daily on busy sites.

Solihull Fire Station

Starting in January next year, Solihull Fire Station will be completely refurbished. The Station will be out of action for about 6 months while the work is completed and the crews will be working from portacabins. It will therefore be necessary to suspend the recycling area for the duration of the works. At the moment we expect this to be from January to July.  The bins will need to be removed from site completely for this time.

Part of the refurbishment includes making even better provision for the recycling area, in particular separating pedestrians.

The Glades Football Club - Lugtrout Lane

The Glades mini recycling centre will be closing on the 24th December 2009 due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control. To find your nearest mini recycling centre, please use the guide above.

The Co-op - Balsall Common

The Co-op mini recycling centre will be closing at the end of February 2010 due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control. To find your nearest mini recycling centre, please use the guide above.

At the recycling centres please:

  • Use the correct containers.
  • Please check the banks are completely full before taking your recycling home, don't leave your recycling on the floor.
  • Remove all bottle tops and lids from the jars.
  • Wash out all cans and crush before putting in the can bank. This means more cans can be recycled and the bin has to be emptied less often.
  • Do not crush aerosols.
  • Crush all plastic bottles and Tetra Pak type containers before recycling them so more can fit into the bins.
  • Take carrier bags and boxes home and reuse them.
