Mini Recycling Centres

Throughout Solihull there are over 20 mini recycling centres (MRC). The facilities at each vary dependant upon size, location, and access.

They are cleansed 3 times a week and if necessary daily on busy sites.

Shirley British Legion – Mini Recycling Centre is closing

From February 29 the site will be closed

The mini recycling centre at Shirley British Legion is closing due to redevelopments taking place in Shirley. We apologises for any inconvenience that the closure of the site may cause.

The nearest alternative mini recycling centres are located at:

• Shirley Library, car park
• Sainsbury’s car park, Shirley

 If the relevant bank has been removed, please do not leave items on the floor.

Good quality textiles, shoes, books, CDs/DVDs can be taken to one of the many charity shops in the area.

At the recycling centres please:

• Use the correct containers.
• Please check the banks are completely full before taking your recycling home, don't leave your recycling on the floor.
• Remove all bottle tops and lids from the jars.
• Wash out all cans and crush before putting in the can bank. This means more cans can be recycled and the bin has to be emptied less often.
• Do not crush aerosols.
• Crush all plastic bottles and Tetra Pak type containers before recycling them so more can fit into the bins.
• Take carrier bags and boxes home and reuse them.
