Frequently Asked Questions
-
If I haven't got enough space in my recycling box/sack provided, what should I do?
Any additional paper, glass, cans, tins, card and plastic bottles can be put into another container such as a cardboard box or other plastic box and left alongside your box/sack for collection. After emptying, your box/sack (including any additional containers) will be returned to your normal point of collection. -
Can I recycle shredded paper in my green box?
Yes, shredded paper can be recycled in your green box. Please keep it all together inside a used envelope or wrap it inside some newspaper. This will stop the paper from blowing away and making a mess. -
Why won't I be able to recycle cardboard in my green box?
Cardboard is a low-grade paper and can't be made into fresh newsprint; it is also too bulky a material to transport in our vehicles. However, you can recycle cardboard at our Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) at Bickenhill or at any one of our mini recycling centres.
