Information
Solihull MBC has a Pest Control Team that is dedicated to a range of Pest Control Services for Domestic Premises; Commercial Premises and Commercial Contract Services. Within our team of officers we have over 71 years experience in pest control. We are members of the National Pest Technicians Assosication and all officers are fully qualified.
Council Pest Control Officers will deal with pests that are harmful to health and well-being at homes and businesses.
Rodents (Rats and Mice) can be particularly unsettling due to their possible transmission of diseases. We will deal with these pests within domestic households, non-residential locations and within a pest control contract. Please see charges page; If you have seen rats within the property, not in the loft, we will treat the call as an emergency and respond within 24 hours, Monday to Friday. Rats in the loft will be responded to within 5 working days. However at times of high demand, particularly during the summer months, it may take longer for us to carry out treatments.
Other pests, including Wasps, Ants beetles and various insects can be dealt with for a fee. Costs are specified on the charges page.

I have a problem with Rats/Mice:
- We provide a service to all Solihull residents, for the treatment of rats and mice
- There is a charge for the treatment of rats. Treatment of mice inside is free. We do not treat for mice outside. see charges page.
- We normally deal with these pests within 5 days, however at times of high demand, particularly during the summer months, this may be longer.

I have a problem with Squirrels:

- We cannot deal with squirrels

- You should make your own arrangements to contact a reputable private contractor for treatment
I have a problem with Wasps/Flea infestations and Bed Bugs:
If you are a Solihull Community Housing (SCH) tenant:

I have a problem with Ants:
- If required, a Pest Control Officer can visit and treat for ants within the property

- A charge is made for this visit, see charges page.
- It is not possible to guarantee 100% eradication.
How do I book an appointment?

- Monday - Tuesday 08:00 - 18:00
- Wednesday 09:00 - 18:00
- Thursday - Friday 08:00 - 18:00
Officers will visit by prior appointment and will apply safe and effective treatments. Weekend work is only undertaken at times of peak demand, this is usually during the summer months.
If for any reason the problem persists they will return and make every effort to ensure the pest is eradicated.
How much will it cost?

How do I pay?
We can take payment by credit/debit cards (Visa, Visa Delta, Mastercard, Switch, Solo). This must be paid at the time of booking treatment by telephone. You should have your card details ready when requesting Pest Control Services.
