Public Register of Convictions
Information about Convictions
This register provides details of prosecutions brought by the Environmental Health Division of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council that have resulted in a conviction.
The Council has taken steps to ensure that convictions subject to appeal are not entered onto the register. To account for the appeals process, additions to the register will not be entered until 21 days has expired following the date of conviction. Where the Council has been notified of an appeal outside of this time period, the conviction will be removed from the register.
Convictions against individuals will appear on the register for a period of five years and will then be removed. Juveniles convicted of offences will not be named on the register, although information as to the offence will be entered. Convictions against corporate bodies are not subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and will remain on the register indefinitely.
All convictions are registered with the Office of Fair Trading, and some are also entered onto the Police National Computer, in accordance with the National Police Records (Recordable Offences) (Amendment) Regulations 1997.
If you have any questions regarding the register, please telephone 0121 704 8000, or email environmentalhealth@solihull.gov.uk. Please note that the Council is usually unable to disclose any additional information about convictions.
