Environmental Crime.
Solihull Council has a wide remit in relation to environmental crime. The Council leads the response locally to all forms of environmental crime, and in doing so works closely with many other agencies, including West Midlands Police, the Environment Agency, Her Majesty's Courts Service, and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.

Solihull Council is a member of the West Midlands Environmental Crime Group, where environmental health officers from the local authorities within the region share policies, best practice and information about prolific offenders that operate across boundaries.
The Council's Environmental Health Division aim to reduce environmental crime using a variety of methods. Work within schools, high profile media campaigns and presentations seek to educate the public about environmental crime and raise the profile of the issue in general. Covert mobile surveillance equipment is used to catch environmental criminals in the act, and officers undertake high visibility foot patrols in problematic areas and issue fixed penalty notices for a range of environmental crimes. Investigations lead to numerous prosecutions each year, and the division also undertakes a number of proactive campaigns and operations within this area.
