Offering wide open spaces and great accessibility, it is little wonder there are so many events in Solihull through the year.

No matter what the season, or the weather, a great show is always put on.

It is not all happening in our parks though, with many conservation projects and environmental initiatives taking place in our Local Nature Reserves too.

Musical Mayhem!

Shirley Park, B90 3AL 11.00am – 3.00pm

Dress up as a pop star for a chance to win the fancy dress competition, take part in a music-themed treasure trail and dance along to your favourite pop hits with our resident DJ at this musical finale of our summer events for children.  There are musical games and crafts to enjoy, with other entertainment including Punch and Judy shows, face painting, rides and much more!  Entry is free, with small charges for some of the attractions on site.  Meet by the car park.

Bat Walk 2

Elmdon Park, B92 7EY 8.00pm – 10.00pm

Another chance to join the Park Rangers on one of our popular bat walks around the park.  Using our high tech bat detectors, try to spot bats as they fly around the lake in their search for food.  Tickets cost £4.00 per person or £12.00 per family ticket (2 adults and up to three children under 16).  Places are limited so to book in advance, contact 0121 704 8000.  Meet by the car park on Tanhouse Farm Road.

Solihull Summerfest

Solihull’s answer to Glastonbury returns to Tudor Grange Park for the August bank holiday weekend! The line-up includes 10CC and Sister Sledge on Saturday and Busted, Razorlight and Coventry’s The Beat on Sunday. Dance Fest also returns for the second year running on Monday, featuring another headlining performance from Diversity. The weekend gets underway with a special screening of ‘The Greatest Showman’, starring Hugh Jackman, on Friday. For more information and to book tickets, visit www.solihullsummerfest.co.uk.
