Offering wide open spaces and great accessibility, it is little wonder there are so many events in Solihull through the year.

No matter what the season, or the weather, a great show is always put on.

It is not all happening in our parks though, with many conservation projects and environmental initiatives taking place in our Local Nature Reserves too.

Saturday 18 November
Meet Santa

Touchwood - Saturday 18 November to Sunday 24 December inclusive

Santa Claus is coming to town! Come along to meet him and his elves in his grotto, located in the Atrium at Touchwood, and you may come home with an early Christmas present! Entry costs £5 per child -  online booking in advance is available this year.

Christmas Market

Mell Square: Monday to Wednesday 10.00am - 6.00pm; Thursday to Saturday 10.00am - 8.00pm (bar may be open later), Sunday 10.00am - 5.00pm

Christmas would not be the same without a visit to the Christmas Market, with hot food and refreshments and over 60 stalls selling luxury gifts, decorations and much more!

Browse the stalls for some seasonal treats and festive stocking fillers. There will also be weekly entertainment in Mell Square every Saturday from 25 November to 16 December inclusive, from Dickensian characters, to camels and school choirs! For more information visit www.solihullbid.co.uk.

Solihull Music Service concerts

Various venues

Hit the right note at various concerts featuring performances by students at Solihull Music Services over the festive season! During week commencing 27 November, they will be holding a series of concerts at various local venues including Shirley Methodist Church.

They will also be performing at three Rock ‘n’ Pop nights, held in partnership with the Rock and Pop Festival Trust, at The Core on 24 November and Solihull Moors Football Club on 13 and 14 December. For more information, visit www.solihullmusicservice.wordpress.com.

Oaks and Shires

Chelmsley Wood LNR, 11.00am - 3.00pm

Meet the heavy horse and learn more about their valuable role in maintaining our woodlands, and take part in traditional woodland crafts such as willow weaving. Other attractions include children’s activities and the Green Man. Hot food and refreshments are also available on site. Nature lovers and conservationists of all ages are sure to enjoy this event which offers traditional fun for all the family!

Sunday 3 December
Christmas in the Park

Brueton Park, B91 3HA, 12.00pm - 3.00pm

Father Christmas is making a special appearance in the park so come and visit him in his grotto to receive a small gift!

There is a festive treasure trail and other entertainment for you to enjoy, including a Christmas craft activity at the Parkridge Centre, where toilets, hot drinks and free mince pies will also be available. Entrance costs £3.00 per child - please note that only cash payments can be accepted both for entrance fees and any refreshments purchased from the Parkridge Centre.

Reduce your queuing time by booking a time slot in advance via the Solihull Connect Contact Centre on 0121 704 8000. With Carols in the Park taking place from 1.00pm, visitors of all ages can get into the festive spirit! Join our brass band and choir for some seasonal good cheer.
