  • Damson Parkway (near St Nicholas Church)
    A great opportunity to get back to nature and learn more about trees, traditional crafts such as wood turning, basket making and logging. You can meet the heavy horse which helps with the woodland management.

Festival of Young Musicians with Aled Jones Sat 22 - 7:30pm

  • Symphony Hall, Birmingham
    The NSPCC Birmingham Branch are presenting a Festival of Young Musicians with Aled Jones at the Symphony Hall.  Tickets cost 15.00 (children 12.50) and are on sale from the Box Office 0121-780-3333, http://www.thsh.co.uk/.
    The NSPCC Birmingham Branch are hoping to raise 25,000 to support local children - marking 120 years of child protection.

Winter Woodland Walk and Tree Identification - Sun 23 10:30am-12pm (1 ½ hours) Dorridge Park and Local Nature Reserve

  • Can you tell the difference between the trees when they don’t have any leaves? Take a look at their bark and buds and work from there.

Solihull Christmas Lights Switch On Thursday 27 - 4pm Mell Square

  • With the festive period approaching it's time to light up Solihull with a fabulous display of Christmas lights.
    Celebrations start at 4pm and include a procession through the Town Centre, reindeers, Father Christmas in his sleigh, prizes to be won, the BRMB stage providing entertainment and a mystery guest doing the honours to switch on the lights. A fun, festive evening for all the family.

Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots, Thurs 27, Fri 28 - Dovehouse Theatre

  • Jadis Shadows Productions presents a new piece specially adapted for the company, based on the classic play by Friedrich Schiller
    It was said that 'Elizabeth Tudor' let her head rule her heart and that 'Mary Stuart' let her heart rule her head.
    In this new, fully costumed, evocative, adaptation of Schiller´s classic play a fatal battle of wills is played out between the two royal cousins.
    Both are doomed but only one is destined to live.
