Jazz & Blues Festival
Music lovers and families in search of Bank Holiday fun will be able to relax, soak up the sounds and enjoy a whole host of brilliant entertainment. Two outdoor stages, in Mell Square and Jubilee Gardens, will be packed with free performances. Firm audience favourites Ricky Cool, The Broombusters and The Fabulous Boogie Boys all return for a second year and there are also performances from the British Jazz Awards-winning trumpet player Bruce Adams, the Dixie Ticklers, The Will Johns Band, The New Orleans Hotshots and John-Paul Gard Hammond Trio amongst many others. Music in the Park 2: ‘Forties Fever!
2.00pm - 4.15pm, Elmdon Park, B91 2PP
The popular music event changes location in Elmdon Park this year, with a concert next to the picturesque St Nicholas Church. Bring a picnic and sit back to enjoy the sounds of a local brass band. Refreshments, toilet facilities and delicious home made cakes are also available at the church, and the event will move indoors in bad weather, where dancing will be encouraged! Meet at the car park off Damson Parkway, next to the church – there are limited parking spaces available, so visitors are encouraged to walk or take public transport if possible.

Slippery Slugs & Snails (All ages)

Teddy Bear’s Picnic

If you go down to the park today, you’re sure of a big surprise! Take your teddy bear on a special picnic where you will have the chance to meet a VIP bear and take part in our competition for the chance to win a prize. Entertainment including a puppet show is also available. £1 per child for the craft activity, with a small charge for some of the other attractions.
