Music in the Park No 1 - Sun 4, 2pm-4:15pm

  • Shirley Park
    Bring a picnic for an afternoon of brass - playing popular show tunes from musicals, TV and the theatre. There is a full programme of events throughout the year.

The Royal Air Forces Association Band in Concert - Sat 10, 7:30pm

  • Royal Air Forces Association - Solihull Branch Presents the return visit by poplar demand of The Royal Air Forces Association Band in Concert - Celebrating RAF 90th Celebrations together with Solihull Branch 60th Anniversary. At The Methodist Church, Stratford Road, Shirley.
    Tickets £9.00 (including refreshments); £10.00 at the door.

Lovely Lavender Nature Walk - Sun 11, 2pm (1.5 hours)

  • Lavender Hall Park
    Come and see the wilder side of the Park - you'll be amazed to find out about the wide variety of habitats it hosts. Find out about the newly planted woodland, and discover some of the creatures living in the pond area and grassland.

25th Knowle Fun - Sun 11

  • The 25th running of Solihull's biggest one day fundraising event - the Knowle Fun Run. Last year 2,000 runners from all over the Midlands raised over £36,000 for charity. Take part and raise funds for Jennifer Trust for Muscular Spinal Atrophy, Meningitis Trust, Acorns Children's Hospice and other local causes.
  • There are trophies and prizes to win in individual and team categories and a medal and certificate for everyone who completes the 5 mile course. Mini runs for the under 9's who will also get a free T-shirt.

Continental Market in Dickens Heath Village Centre - Fri 16 to Sun 18

  • Dickens Heath Village Centre
    The smell of freshly baked French bread will be wafting down Main Street in Dickens Heath Village Centre, when a Continental Market comes to the village. This unique market will be on site from Friday to Sunday bringing a selection of tasty treats for everyone. Visitors will be able to sample and buy: freshly cooked crepes, a selection of cheeses, olives, dried fruits and nuts, pate and chicken provencale. A special feature of the market is the bread and pastries cooked in front of shoppers in an on-site bread oven; producing 17 different types of bread, as well as croissant, pain au chocolat and fruit filled pastries!

Gardeners Weekend - 17-18 May, 11am-3pm

  • Solihull Town Centre and Malvern Park
    It's Solihull's first garden weekend with lots going on! There's a craft and garden market, demonstrations, talks, walks, plant swap stall (So bring a plant), craft activities for children, brass band and cream teas! Pick up a timetable from any of the stalls or look out in local press or on our website www.solihull.gov.uk/events nearer the time.

Adult Learners' Week

  • Starts Saturday 17 until Friday 23, and this year is Solihull's biggest-ever programme of events. There's something for everyone, and it's a great way to learn something new.

Music in the Park No 2 - Sun 25, 2pm-4:15pm

  • Brueton Park
    A local brass band will play a selection of popular TV, show and theatre shows for a fabulous free afternoon in the Park. Look out for the next one in Malvern Park.

Teddy Bears Picnic - Mon 26, 2pm-4pm

  • York's Wood, meet at Babbs Mill car park
    Come and find bear necessities in the woods for your teddy. Fun and games for all the family.

Children's Workshops - Tue 27- Fri 30, 10:30am - 12pm and 1pm - 2:30pm

  • Parkridge Centre, Brueton Park
    Various different workshops throughout the week including Land Art, Teddy Bears Picnic, Magical Minibeasts and Night Life

Story Time in the Park - Wed 28, 10am, 12pm, 2pm & 4pm

  • Elmdon Park
    Come along for a walking story time around the Park about nature, animals, trees and flowers followed by a craft activity.
    Cost: £1.50 per child / 50p per adult
    Booking advisable on 0121 704 8000 to secure a space -limited availability.

Teddy Bear's Picnic in the Park - Thurs 29, 11am-1pm

  • Meriden Park
    Bring your favourite teddy bear and some lunch and join the rangers for a picnic in the Park with a free Punch and Judy show.
