Solihull Carnival - Saturday 7th June
Join in the fun at Solihull Carnival this year at Monkspath Hall Road Car Park. The fun starts with a procession through the High Street, starting at 12 noon from Malvern Park car park and then through to the main Carnival site, arriving about 12.45pm. Stalls, food and entertainment commence with the Mayor officially opening the event at 1.00pm, and entertainments go through till 5.00pm, culminating in the announcement of the winner of the Star for a Day Competiton on the BRMB Roadshow stage. The fun fair is on site at the car park from Thursday 5th and Friday 6th from 6.00pm-10.30pm, and on Carnival Saturday 7th from 1.00pm – 11.00pm.
Wetlands and Ponds - Sat 7, 2pm-4:30pm
- Brueton Park, meet outside the Parkridge Centre
A walk around the wetlands area of the Local Nature Reserve followed by a pond dipping session to learn about creatures that lurk beneath the surface of the WWT pond.

Heart of England Kite Day - Sun 8, 11am-3pm
- Lavender Hall Park, Balsall Common
A great opportunity to learn some skills from the experts, make (small charge) or bring your own kite to fly in the Park. Kite demonstrations throughout the day as well as children's rides, puppet shows and a music from a local brass band. Bring your picnic for a bumper filled family day out!
Orienteering in the Park - Wed 11, 6:30pm-7:30pm

An opportunity to give this popular hobby and sport a try, with Solihull Orienteering Club who charge £2.50 for adults and £1 for under 21's and students.
Love Parks Week 14th-22nd June
Launch Day - Sat 14, 11am-3pm
- Solihull Town Centre, Mell Square
Join us in the national campaign from 14th-22nd June, to celebrate our valuable Parks and Open Spaces.
'Take part in the Postcards from the Park' photographic competition or join us at one of our events.

Passport Challenge
- Calling all Children - take the Park Passport challenge by visiting 3 of the 5 Parks during the week! Can it be achieved? There's a different theme each day from 6pm- 8pm, with lots of activities, facts and fun to get stuck into - pick up your passport at any of the events and start collecting your stamps. There will be a prize for one lucky challenger who successfully completes their passport!

Explore the Cole Valley - Sun 15, 10.30am (2hrs approx)
- Meet at Babbs Mill - Boat House car park
A circular walk from Babbs Mill Local Nature Reserve, through Meriden Park and along the Colebank Local Nature Reserve with the Park Ranger team -pointing out sites of interest and local flora and fauna.
Community Services Open Day - Fri 20, 10.00am-3.30pm

Solihull Council's Community Service Team is hosting an open day at Meriden Park to demonstrate the diversity of services the Council offers. Council workers and members of the public are invited to attend the event on June 20, which will give Solihull residents the chance to share their views with members of the team and learn more about what they do.
There will be fun displays such as ‘Things found down the drain’ and the new adventure playground to visit. The event will inform people about school travel plans, library services and sport activities in the local area.
Activities run from 10:00am to 3:30pm and admission is free.

Solihull Environment Day - Living today with tomorrow in mind! - Sat 21, 10am - 4pm
- Meriden Park
A family day out in the Park with a mixture of entertainment including a birds of prey display and a steel pan band. Meet local environmental groups and see how you can do your bit to protect the environment.
Music in the Park No.3 - Sun 22, 2pm-4:15pm
- Malvern Park
Bring your afternoon tea to the Park and while away the day with the sounds of popular tunes from our local Brass Band.
Police Open Day - Sun 22 11am - 3pm Police and Courts, Homer Road Solihull
- See...Cell block, Control room, Mock trials, The dock, The Magistrate, Fingerprinting, Police dogs, Police cars, Police bikes, Fire engines and much more.
Insect Discovery Day - Sun 29, 2pm-4pm
- Elmdon Park
Join the scavenger hunt for insects, swot up at the information stand and find out what you can do at home to attract insects. There's a guided walk from 3pm.
